Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on Android in the Middle East: Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the Middle East. Here’s a breakdown of the top five apps: Careem – rides, food & more, Uber - Request a ride, Bolt: Request a Ride, Kaiian : Saudi Ride hailing, and Jeeny - جيني.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a modest decline in weekly downloads, starting at 27.6K in early January and dropping to approximately 17.5K by the end of March. Weekly active users ranged from 156K at the beginning of the quarter to around 150K towards the end, with a peak of 182K in early March.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a relatively stable download rate, fluctuating between 13.6K and 20.4K. Active users consistently hovered around the 740K mark, peaking at 768K in early March before settling at 753K by the end of the quarter.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads from 13.9K at the start of January to about 10.3K by the end of March. Weekly active users remained steady, averaging around 55K throughout the quarter.

Kaiian : Saudi Ride hailing showcased a positive trend in downloads, starting at 8.8K in early January and reaching up to 15.4K by early March, although there was a dip towards the end of the quarter. Active users increased from 13.8K to 23K, with a slight decline to 16.7K in late March.

Jeeny - جيني reported stable download figures, fluctuating between 8.8K and 13.3K. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, ranging from 41K to 45K, with a peak in early March.
